If you’re looking for a short song that’ll make you smile, check out “Favorite Person” by Ben Rector. It’s a sweet, feel-good tune about how great it is to spend time with someone you love. This is one of those songs that can lift your mood on a rough day or add a little extra sunshine to a good one. This one’s been playing in my car a lot recently and it’s impossible not to smile.
Ben Rector is a singer and songwriter from Oklahoma who now lives in Nashville. He’s been making music since the mid-2000s and has built a loyal following with his piano-driven songs. His music often focuses on love, family, and everyday life, the kind of stuff that we all deal with. He’s known for keeping things positive without being cheesy, which I promise is harder than it sounds.
“Favorite Person” comes from his newest project called Songs From The Richest Man In The World, released in 2025. The title of the album hints at its message: that real wealth comes from the people we love and the moments we share. If you haven’t heard of Ben Rector before, this album is a great place to start. It’s warm, honest, and has some great ear worms on it.
