Kenny Rogers has been performing solo or in groups since the 1950’s. He’s a fantastic singer, musician, and storyteller. This tune is actually written by Lee Greenwood (singer/writer of God Bless The USA.) Lee released it on an album from the same year, but I have a special spot in my heart for Kenny and his version.
Fun Fact: Kenny opened a number of chicken based restaurants in 1991 and called them Kenny Rogers Roasters. They closed all the US locations but still have some in different countries in Asia.
Listen for: The warm sound of Kenny’s voice. He has the voice of a large gentle huggable bear.
Hope you enjoy!
Song: “A Love Song”
Artist: Kenny Rogers
Album: Love Will Turn You Around
Year: 1982
Other great tracks from both albums:
“Somewhere Between Lovers and Friends”
“Love Will Turn You Around”
Why do people cry when they hear the word goodbye
In a love song?
Tears are sure to fall when you know they gave it all
In a love song
Somehow two lovers get a chance at a beautiful romance
And you wish it could be you
‘Cause everybody’s needin’ what the singers all are singin’
In a love song
